We are seeking an experienced Warehouse and Distribution Manager to manage a warehouse operation in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record & experience in logistics, warehouse management, and people management in a multi-national company.POSITION INFO:Warehouse and Distribution ManagerArea: Montaque Gardens, Cape TownPackage: Basic Salary: R60000 p/m (negotiable) Plus benefits, plus performance Bonus (CTC R880000 P/A)Purpose of the position: We are seeking an experienced Warehouse and Distribution Manager to manage a warehouse operation in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record & experience in , warehouse management, and people management in a multi-national company.Key performance areas and indicators:
- Manage warehouse operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in line with company standards.
- FG receipts ex Imports and Manufacturing
- Manage inventory levels, cycle counts, annual stock count, slow moving, aged & FIFO.
- Manage distribution of SCT’s & returnable containers.
- Implement effective Warehouse management processes.
- Manage materials handling equipment & Optimize storage capacity.
- Distribution & Logistics
- Transport management (own fleet & 3PL) for the Region & Interbranch.
- Ensure the Optimization of deliveries/ vehicles.
- Maintain optimum service level and achieve OTIF targets of 99%.
- Effective cost management of fleet fuel, servicing, maintenance.
- Compliance to employee training, transport regulations / legislation.
- Management of Service providers, SLA’s / KPI performance and contracts
- Administration / Projects
- Ensure accurate record keeping & reporting.
- Collaborate with Sales team to review customer requirements and performance.
- Drive efficiency, productivity, continuous improvement.
- Lead Supply Chain projects for Region / Nationally
- Organization Development
- Continuous improvement/review to ensure best practices are implemented.
- Process redesigning and procedure improvement recording, Implementation, and execution.
- Budgetary Control
- To ensure achievement of budget and agreed financial targets.
- Monitor & Report on budget monthly and taken corrective actions on deviations.
- Authorize departmental expenses within approved mandate.
- Compile annual expense, capex & resource budget and execute accordingly.
- SHERQ / ISO / Audits
- Compliance to company EHS policy & local regulations.
- Responsible for the site Maintenance in designated areas.
- Staff management
- Leadership / Supervise warehouse staff, drivers, assistants.
- Execute people related administration duties (traffic offences, leave management etc.)
- Prepare and implement training plans.
- Attend to disciplinary matters within policy and code guidelines.
Skills, Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:
- Grade 12 with Maths and accountancy as passed subjects.
- Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics (non-negotiable)
Skills
- Computer literacy and proficient in working with SAP, Syspro, ClickView, Eco Time, VIP essential and Microsoft office programmes with advanced Excel skills.
- The ideal candidate can work in a highly pressurized environment and manage various projects simultaneously.
Experience:
- 10+ years in warehouse & distribution management in a multinational manufacturing organisation.
- Competent in logistics, inventory management, and supply chain management
- Proven leadership and team management skills including IR, training, development, performance.
- Experience in Process design & Supply Chain optimisation.
- Experience in Managing 3rd party transport providers.
- Fleet Management experience is essential.
Expected salary: R60000 per year
