Job description: Job Summary Our client is looking for a skilled Head Chef to assist in running their kitchen smoothly, ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional service, at their restaurant in George, Western Cape.You’ll work closely with the Owner, must be able to lead a dynamic team, and bring innovative culinary creations to life.Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen operations in the, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
- Team Leadership: Support and guide kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
- Menu Preparation: Assist in planning and executing menu items, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Quality Control: Monitor food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Communication: Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and address any issues that arise.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation.
Qualifications:
- Available immediately
- Must have two years experience in running a kitchen or just have finished with a culinary qualification
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team and clientele.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport for commuting to work.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
