Job Title: Plant Room Operator

Job description: Hire Resolve’s client, a leading meat processing facility, is currently seeking a Plant Room Operator to join their dynamic team in Malmesbury.This role focuses on the operation and maintenance of refrigeration plant equipment to ensure smooth operations at the facility. The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Manager and play a vital role in both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.Responsibilities:Planned Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as per the schedule.
- Accurately complete and return maintenance check sheets and job cards.
- Minimize downtime through effective execution of maintenance tasks.
Unplanned Maintenance
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and accurately report downtime details.
Refrigeration
- Monitor and log refrigeration plant temperatures, pressures, and levels.
- Inspect and report irregularities in refrigeration plant equipment, valve stations, piping, and drip trays.
General Duties
- Maintain leak-free equipment, including oil, water, ammonia, and compressed air systems.
- Ensure quality workmanship with no rework required.
- Work overtime and be available for standby duties as operationally required.
Standby Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to callouts during standby shifts.
- Complete standby forms accurately and provide detailed feedback.
SHEQ Compliance
- Follow safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Grade 12 with a Millwright or Electrician trade test and safe ammonia handling training.
- Experience: 3-5 years of technical refrigeration experience.
- Skills:
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Refrigeration systems knowledge
- Piping and plumbing expertise
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and food safety practices
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable car
