Job description: Job Summary Employer DescriptionOur client is a medium size company specializing in roadworks & civil infrastructure but is also venturing into other construction projectsJob DescriptionYou will:
- Accurately prepare cost estimates for roads and earthworks projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals and tender submissions, ensuring all client requirements and specifications are met.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets and improve profitability.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other technical documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and propose mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate and complete estimates.
- Develop project schedules and timelines, ensuring alignment with cost estimates and project goals.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to clarify project requirements and provide updates on estimates and bids.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in estimating techniques to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the estimation process.
Qualifications
- Degree/BTech/ Diploma (QS or Civil Eng)
Skills
- Approximately 5 – 10 years of experience in estimating of civils projects.
- CCS Candy tendering & programming
- MS Project an advantage
