Job description: Job SummaryAn exploration drilling company needs a Maintenance Planner to join the Engineering team in Mokgalakwena, to manage all aspects of the onsite maintenance and planning of the company’s fleet of Drill Rigs and vehicles. The company owns and operates 50 drill rigs, employs 250 people and drills for all major African commodities with recent expansions into Saudi Arabia. You will have the opportunity to implement and roll out an Upkeep Maintenance Management System and ensure all planned and unplanned maintenance activities are carried out effectively and efficiently to maximise production time with equipment that is reliable and available.If you have expertise in Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical systems on mining equipment you will excel in this position with previous experience in Maintenance Planning being mandatory. A Red Seal Certification and an Engineering qualification will be advantageous as a strong technical background on different equipment is needed. More than 3 years experience in mining is required.Duties
- Supporting, scheduling and execution of all maintenance activities and usage of earthmoving and ancillary equipment
- Ensure effective planning, organizing, and prioritizing of all engineering related activities and allocate tasks to staff
- Lead Implementation of Upkeep Maintenance Management System
- Generate regular KPI Reports with regards to the utilisation, availability and reliability of the fleet
- Ensure plant and equipment inspections are being done, co-coordinated, documented and given to the relevant authorities for action
- Maintain a backlog register
- Analyse unplanned downtime and work on preventative plans with Maintenance Superintendent
- Effectively manage documentation and data control
- Knowledge sharing and identifying training needs related to subordinates
- Effective time management
Qualifications /experience
- Mining Experience minimum 3-5 years mining related experience required
- Back ground in Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical experience on mining equipment mandatory
- Previous Mining Engineering maintenance planning experience mandatory
- Tertiary engineering qualification
- Red Seal Trade qualification advantageous
- Strong engineering technical background on different equipment (Support and Production)
- Previous experience with a CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system)
- Familiar with and able to manage maintenance related activities according to the Anglo Maintenance Management framework
