Job description: Job SummaryResponsibilities
- Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
- Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
- Oversee the company’s in-country finance IT system
- Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel
- Oversee all audit and internal control operations
- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Oversees the maintenance of accounting information.
- Evaluates current policies, procedures and people and makes recommendations to increase the financial value of the company.
- Oversees accounting, corporate governance, financial reporting, financial systems, and external reporting.
- Provides cost-effective and efficient accounting and finance systems, policies and processes that meet the current and future business needs of the company.
- Leads and inspires the accounting & finance team.
- Prepare, present, and defend financial statements at all appropriate government structures. Respond to and attend all discussions related to both tax and parafiscal inspections and controls and report.
Qualifications, Skills and Professional Experience Required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English).
- Have a university degree or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Adaptability to technological and organizational developments.
- Personal accounting title (CPA, ACCA) would be a great asset
- Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in mining, oil, or other industrial trades
- Good understanding of OHADA
