Job description: Job Description :An independent NPO coordinates private sector projects for Africa’s economic growth and development and facilitates project executions and project management services on behalf of various stakeholders and funders. The Marketing and Communications function will suit an appropriately qualified individual with 5+ years’ experience working in a marketing and communications team. The role has scope for the successful candidate to make their mark and be provided with the opportunity to work in a dynamic team and environment whilst making a meaningful impact on the socio-economic development of Africa. The purpose of this role is to promote the organisation and its various activities through the development, implementation, tracking and optimisation of a marketing and communications plan across multiple channels (including website and social media platforms).R70 000 – R80 000 per month CTC as a maximum. The client is open to a permanent or fixed term appointment to suit the individual.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:General:Marketing / communications strategy planning, execution and reportingMarketing / communications policies and guidelinesProvide support to Business Development / Membership / Stakeholder Relationship ManagerMarketing:Develop and implement media strategies (including managing relationships)Press releases, articles and media materialsCommunications:Prepare/manage materials (website, social media, brochures, videos, branding, speeches, etc)NewslettersPublications (annual reports, annual magazine, reports, etc)Events (prepare and manage)Stakeholder database / CRM managementRequirementsEssential:Native or bilingual proficiency in both spoken and written English, with the ability to tailor content to different audiencesExcellent attention to detailA strong understanding of Marketing & CommunicationsCopywriting and editing skillsKnowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics etc)An understanding of WordPress, SEO tactics, etc a distinct advantageStrong analytical skills and data-driven thinkingThe ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, juggling multiple projectsFlexibility and adaptability, with experience in fast-paced environmentsAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamCompetent use of standard Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPointMust be passionate about the development of AfricaConstant contact/email marketingGood stakeholder management and interpersonal skillsDesirable:WordPress programming skillsCRM knowledgeUp-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurementKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:Essential:Relevant qualification in marketing, digital communications, media, public relations, or a related field; or comparable experienceProven experience (5+ years) of delivering successful integrated marketing campaigns from concept to executionAbility to think creatively and critically about multi-media content whilst ensuring alignment with brand guidelinesA desire to learn and develop Marketing & Communication skills and techniquesCan work with people at all levels -senior management (as will need to liaise regularly with the Chairman and Directors)Desirable:Project management experienceBuilt environment sector experienceInterest in political/environmental agendaBenefitsOpportunity to work within a world-class organisation.Open to permanent or fixed term.Preference is in-office however hybrid work is available.
