Job description: We are searching for a dynamic candidate to fill the role of Senior Manager for an F&B and retail space on one of Stellenbosch’s most historic Wine Farms. The successful Candidate will be responsible for the operation and supervision of the retail, food & beverage experience which includes a Farm Cafe, Farm Shop, Picnics & Wine Food experience.Key Reponsibilities Include but not limited to:Plans and directs the day-to-day operations.Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive Retail, Food and Beverage sales, increase profitability, create policies and programs that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base. Maintain high standards and conditions and foster a positive environment. To consistently exceed guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.The successful Candidate will be expected to maximize performance and profitability of all outlets, develop business stragtegies to optimize profitability and ensure all products and displays are merchandized effectively.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEMinimum of 5 years’ experience as a senior Manager or in a similar position
Degree/Diploma in Business Management, Retail, F&B or related field.
Proven track record of success in a similar environment & STRONG FINANCIAL & BUSINESS ACUMEN
Must have drivers’ licence & own transport.Expert knowledge of point of sales systems, inventory management systems, and computerized reservation systems
Expert working knowledge of Word and Excel, Outlook, Micros & Pilot point of sales system
Proven track record in implementing new restaurant concepts
Good understanding of retail and F&B
Strong understanding of food cost and costings
Experience developing profitable promotions
Establish and maintain proper inventories
Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety standards & regulations
Ability to manage changes effectively and implement on time throughout the werf structure.
Able to lead by example at all times and have a “hands-on” approach to leading and managing the team.
Able to inspire, train and develop team members
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrates strong listening skills and is willing to accept feedback and suggestions.
Approach all tasks with creativity & enthusiasm
Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action
Ability to handle stress well and work under pressure
