Job description: An exciting opportunity to work at a newly developed centre!Join a thriving real estate private equity fund specializing in retail and commercial properties. Our client’s business began in West Africa and, through developing strong relationships with investors and a robust network of national and international retailers, they identified a gap in the East and South African markets and have since expanded their operations. As a cost-conscious enterprise, they manage key functions-such as construction, property management, fund reporting, and land sourcing-in-house.Currently, they are developing a new centre in Harrismith, Free State, with plans to complete Phase 1 by the beginning of 2025 and Phase 2 by mid-2025. This 6,000 sqm centre will host 15 tenants, of which 95% are national retailers. They are seeking a hands-on Property & Facilities Manager to join their close-knit team ahead of the mall’s opening. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the centre over a 1-year period, with accommodation provided and a performance bonus at the end of your contract. While the head office will handle leasing, your scope of work will include tenant fit-out management, monthly reporting, project management, overseeing third-party service providers, assisting with budgets, maintenance, marketing event coordination, and ensuring the seamless operation of the building.This role requires 2-3 years of retail facilities or property management experience, excellent technical skills and knowledge, and a matric certificate.
