Job description: Job SummaryThe HR Generalist is responsible for managing key HR functions, including Workforce Planning, Talent Recruitment and Selection, Induction and Onboarding processes, as well as the compilation, review, and grading of Job Profiles. This position also serves as a backup for both the HR Manager and the Payroll Officer when required. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the HR team and ensuring the smooth implementation of HR strategies in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.Key Responsibilities:Workforce Planning:
- Collaborate with management to forecast workforce needs and develop recruitment strategies.
- Assist in determining staffing requirements to ensure organizational goals are met.
Recruitment and Selection:
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating selection decisions.
- Ensure that recruitment strategies attract top talent, with a focus on candidates who align with company culture and goals.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies during the recruitment process.
Induction and Onboarding:
- Lead the development and delivery of effective induction and onboarding programs.
- Ensure new hires receive a positive onboarding experience, helping them integrate seamlessly into the organization.
Job Profile Development:
- Compile, review, and update job descriptions and profiles, ensuring they are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with company needs.
- Grade job profiles to ensure consistency and fairness in job classifications and compensation structures.
Payroll Support:
- Provide backup support for the Payroll Officer when necessary, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Assist with payroll-related queries and maintain payroll records in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
HR Administration:
- Maintain up-to-date records for employee data and HR-related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal HR policies and legal requirements in all HR functions.
- Provide assistance and support in the implementation of HR projects and initiatives.
General HR Support:
- Provide advice and guidance on HR-related matters to management and staff.
- Work collaboratively with the HR Manager and other team members to deliver on HR strategies and objectives.
- Stay updated with HR best practices and relevant legislation.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- Suitable HR Qualification (Degree, Diploma, or equivalent certification)
- At least 5 years of experience in a talent acquisition or recruitment position, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing using Sage VIP or similar payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge of current relevant HR legislation and best practices.
- Understanding of HR Best Practices, including Targeted Selection and Behaviourally Based Interviewing (advantageous).
- In-depth knowledge of recruitment techniques and employee onboarding processes.
- Fully computer literate, with proficiency in O365 and Sage (or similar software).
- Ability to implement and improve HR practices and procedures.
