In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to professionally manage production facilities, utilizing company resources—human, capital, equipment, and supplies—to produce high-quality day-old parent chicks. You’ll also rear quality point-of-lay pullets and manage parent flocks to supply top-notch hatching eggs to the commercial hatchery in a cost-effective manner. If you have a keen eye for detail, a drive for excellence, and a commitment to producing the best, this position is perfect for you.Minimum requirements:General Management:
- Plan, develop, and implement policies and practices to meet company goals for profitable operations.
- Analyze data and maintain records using Poultry-Suite and Target.
- Coordinate with Contract Producers for a steady supply of eggs.
- Meet and exceed set production targets.
- Direct and coordinate GP rearing, egg production, hatchery activities, and parent rearing.
- Maintain all relevant production records and ensure compliance with biosecurity rules.
- Prepare and manage the annual production farm budget within set limits.
- Confer with farm managers on equipment and supply needs, production and research requirements, and work schedules.
- Liaise with the Marketing Manager and Senior Hatchery Manager to maintain production planning forecasts.
- Ensure company production facilities comply with government regulations and undergo state veterinarian audits.
- Maintain animal welfare policies and high standards of environmental health and safety.
People Management:
- Develop the competencies of subordinates.
- Manage team performance and set key objectives for production personnel.
- Discipline employees for non-performance according to company policy.
- Ensure efficient human resources administration.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and general maintenance.
- Comply with government regulations through regular state veterinarian audits.
