- Perform extensive primary and secondary research to gain a comprehensive understanding of core markets in South Africa.
- Advertise new job vacancies and collect applications.
- Search the in-house database and online job portals for suitable CVs.
- Screen, register, and interview candidates.
- Upload candidates onto the database and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize the company’s database system to access applicant and client information.
- Interact with candidates and clients both in and out of the office.
- Obtain interview feedback from clients and candidates, reporting findings back to Consultants.
Research (20%)
- Conduct thorough research on commercial services, market trends, and government legislation, including investment management, private equity, private wealth, trade finance, and compliance.
- Analyse market conditions in specific geographic areas and gather information on competitors, new opportunities, and industry investments.
- Identify potential business development opportunities and report factual information to management.
- Use research and consultancy to provide market intelligence, offering strategic recommendations for decision-making.
- Create error-free, client-ready presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Design and develop basic financial models in Excel.
Administration and Business Support (10%)
- Maintain accurate records of all research projects, data, and documents within the company’s systems.
- Support Consultants with documentation, interview preparations, client visits, and weekly reports.
- Prepare management reports that define and evaluate problems, recommending appropriate solutions.
- Conduct eligibility checks, identification, and verification for candidates.
- Ensure notes on clients and candidates are current and relevant in the database.
- Provide general administrative support as directed by senior staff.
Client Management
- Liaise with clients on projects, ensuring accurate and comprehensive communication is recorded in the database.
- Verify that client requirements align with key processes and network internally and externally.
- Provide accurate candidate information to clients and aim for consistent client visits.
Candidate Management
- Conduct in-depth telephone interviews to screen candidates.
- Make follow-up calls to capture updates.
- Pre-screen candidates for suitability before submission to clients and prepare them for interviews.
- Search for and shortlist potential candidates, ensuring CVs meet specific standards reflective of client requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Management, or a related field.
- 2-5+ years of research experience, ideally in executive search or recruitment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with online research methods, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and CRM platforms is advantageous.
- Experience in Financial Services, Investment would be ideal.
- Strong team player with a passion for delivering high-quality research in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and professional writing skills.
- Open-minded and curious, able to quickly grasp candidates’ and clients’ needs.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing client requirements.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively.
- Proven project management skills, with the capability to oversee milestones and proactively communicate updates to the team and clients.
- Confidence in producing qualitative and quantitative research analysis, strong communication skills
