Job description: Exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager.We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee our payroll operations in Muizenberg, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing and executing the payroll process, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and driving efficiency in payroll operations. This role requires a hands-on leader who can guide a team, manage payroll systems, and collaborate with HR and finance to support our workforce effectively.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to verify payroll accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to coordinate employee benefits, salary adjustments, and other compensation-related matters.
- Manage payroll systems, making recommendations for process improvements and system upgrades.
- Lead, train, and develop payroll staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Prepare and submit regular payroll reports to management and government authorities as required.
- Stay updated on payroll best practices, legislative changes, and emerging trends.
Job Experience and skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 5 – 10 years experience as a Payroll Manager.
- Retail industry experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll principles, laws, and regulations in South Africa.
- Proficiency with payroll software (experience with [specific software] is a plus).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
