Job description: Cedar Wood Recruitment is now recruiting for a Travel Reservations Consultant at the Cape Town office of a boutique tour operator specialising in luxury travel experiences across the Western Cape.This is a full-time, office-based position – Able to start immediately!*The ideal candidate is a passionate and skilled Reservations Consultant with a proven track record and who shares the Client’s values of excellence, creativity, and precision. The candidate needs to be well spoken, able to handle pressure well, with a clear understanding that it requires commitment in order to build a future with the Company. Furthermore, exceptional organisational skills are essential to ensure accuracy and minimise errors.Requirements: Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
- The position requires above average knowledge of tourism products/packages in South Africa

- Proven ability to work independently and handle bookings unsupervised.
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly during the initial training period.
- Flexibility in working hours and availability for emergency phone duty.
Key Performance Areas
- To develop and maintain excellent working relationship with Tour Operators
- Design requests for exclusive experiences in Cape Town
- Preparation of tailor-made offers and travel documents, preparation of travel programmes and administrative processes
- Oversee and manage the guest’s itinerary and ensure that it is executed successfully
- To manage and assist guests from their time of arrival until their time of departure
- To supervise current Tour Programmes and services provided
- To supervise and interact with other providers as well as assist in finding new potential service providers of the highest standards
- To book and supervise all Tour Guides and drivers working for the Company’s Travel Operations Department
- Provide consultation regarding travel and tourism products and all other information pertaining to travelling for Clients.
- Send, receive, and process e-mails with third parties on behalf of the Company

Remuneration, Training, Working HoursTraining Period (First 3 Months)
- Salary: R 18,000.00 Gross (excluding commission)
- During the initial three months, you will undergo comprehensive training to familiarise yourself with our booking systems and procedures. You will not be handling bookings independently during this phase
After 3 Months
- Salary: R 20,000.00 Gross
- Commission Structure: 2% commission on the profit of each booking you handle independently. Important to note that the commission will apply once you are ready to work independently, this depends on your learning speed and the company’s confidence in your ability to work unsupervised.
- Once the training period is successfully completed, you will transition to a gross salary of
R 20,000.00 along with a commission on the bookings you work on independently. The allocation of bookings will depend on your learning speed and the company’s confidence in your ability to work unsupervised.Working Hours09h00 to 18h00Emergency Phone Duty (After 3 Months)
- After three months, you will be responsible for the after-hours emergency phone for one week per month.
- Working Hours during Emergency Phone Duty: 07h00 to 18h00 (including Saturdays and Sundays)
- Off Day: The following Tuesday
- Additional Work: If there is significant workload, we expect your commitment to staying longer to address urgent matters.
