Job description: A New York based company has exciting positions available for an experienced hotel guest service agents!They offer their clients who are well established, high-end luxury hotels across the biggest cities in America a remote guest service package.They are seeking South Africans or Zimbabweans with experience in hotel front desk and desk services the opportunity to work remotely from home in South Africa or Zim.The busiest shifts will be in the evenings / nights due to the different time zones in our counties, so flexibility for weekend work and night shifts will give you a stronger chance to be recruited.It is a very professional set up. You will receive a starting package of R95 per hour based on a 40 hour week, and thereafter time and a half overtime.You will be part of their communications hub providing centralized PBX operator services, guest issue management software, text messaging, SIP services and other cutting-edge technology to over 200 hotels worldwide. The company prides themselves on providing excellent services to hotels and their guests as well as providing an enjoyable work environment to our staff. They are a 24×7 operation and looking for people to fill in shifts at various times. All employees work from home. Our current priority is hiring for flexible weekend/PM shift availability.You will need:
- Relevant qualification,
- Photo identification,
- a copy of your current Fibre contract or invoice that shows your address as well as your current Fibre plan for verification purposes.
- Actual wired Fibre internet going directly to the location you are working from. Your computer will need to be directly connected to your router via an ethernet cable.
- Air Fibre, Wifi, Hotspots, and other cloud-based internet services are not sufficient and cannot be used whilst working for this company.
- Must have a quiet work environment.
- Must be reliable.

Requirements
- A computer (desktop or laptop) that you are able to connect to our remote service with. The computer must have at least 8 GB RAM and i3 or stronger chipset
- A quiet work environment at all times.
- Stable high-speed internet (wired Fibre connection specifically if located in South Africa.) Internet disconnections should not happen on a regular basis.
- A minimum of 20MBPS download & 20MBPS upload speed and latency less than 250 ms is required to our US servers. If you are located internationally it is important to note that your contracted speeds may not be the speeds that reach the US. To complete a speedtest you can go to: https://proof.ovh.net/ *Important note* Wireless connections are prohibited (including hotspots, wifi connection, air fibre.)
- Reliability to work a set schedule 40 hours weekly
- Agents must display a deep and broad knowledge of the workings of the hotel, its layout, policies, website and clientele to be able to answer any question and handle each situation that arises to prevent additional call traffic to the hotels within their group.
Guest Service/Reservations responsibilities also include:
- Speaking Clearly
- Being friendly, warm, anticipatory and interactive with hotel guests. All guests are treated as VIPs
- Use correct verbiage and procedures for hotels
- Answer incoming calls from outside and within hotels
- Transfer calls to relevant departments
- Quote Unicorn
- Log wake up calls and perform wake-up call services
- Enter tickets into hotel guest management systems
- Use Property Management Systems to confirm, create, update and cancel reservations as needed
- Dispatch Valet and Bell services for guests
- Communicate with hotel employees over the phone and through online chat programs (Google Hangouts and Slack)
Equipment Requirements:
- Stable and fast internet (25 up and 20 down speed) is a pre-requisite.
- Desktop or Laptop, Windows 10 or Apple Mac operating systems ok.
- NO Chromebooks.
- USB Headset a must.
