Job description: Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Front of House Manager, for a luxury hotel based in Constantia. Within this role you will be required to oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve our restaurant’s objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.Key Competencies Required:

Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently presented and served according to the restaurant’s standards.
- Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
- Assist in continually striving to develop the staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure that front-of-house rosters are completed as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
- Administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
- Assist in managing staff levels, wages and hours.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers.
- Work closely with the management team to implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through.
- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
- Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer complaints.
- Track beverage stock pricing and ensure that stock is counted daily and that the variances are noted.
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
- Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and training programs.
- Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Assist in overseeing and ensure that restaurant policies on employee performance standards are maintained.
- Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chef or Restaurant Manager.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
