Job Title: URGENT Assistant Catering Manager – Stellenbosch

Job description: Leading SA employer has an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Catering Manager, in other words a kitchen manager or chef with strong admin savvy to step into a more corporate role catering to a large facilityPrimary KPIs;
- Manage daily, end-to-end operation of the estate alongside the Catering Manager.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team and drive customer experience.
- Ensure that the facility adheres to all requirements in line with statutory Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and policies.
- Manage the cafeteria optimally in order to surpass client and customer expectations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments of the cafeteria.
- Ensure staff is adequately trained and adhere to processes and procedures.
- Innovate and creatively solve problems proactively.
- Stock management and control.
- Menu standardization implementation and ongoing monitoring.
- Financial reporting: complete all required transactions on the Point of Sales and Bookkeeping system.
- Assist when required with ad hoc and or monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of the catering environment
- Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety policies and processes relevant to the catering industry
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Excellent customer services skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Financial Acumen and report writing
- Leadership and people management skills
- Performance management experience coupled with sound knowledge of South African and industry-specific Labour Laws
- Results orientation
