Job description: To support the General & Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day upkeep of the Estate grounds. Responsible for the general maintenance of the gardens, plants and lawns at the Lodge and maintain the beautification of the lawns and gardens.EMPLOYEE VALUE PROPOSITION:
This position offers routine and predictability with opportunities to apply your technical skills on a daily basis as part of a highly effective team; whilst operating within clearly defined standards and expectations, where your specialist Grounds / Gardens expertise can be recognised.
Reporting to: General ManagerMINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
- 5 years’ experience all round horticultural experience and general maintenance / project management position of which at least 3 year’s experience in a 4/5* Lodge / Hotel environment in Horticultural management capacity
- Proven understanding of Health and Safety standards as well as Environmental Impact Controls. Any relevant qualifications and or experience in this regard will be an advantage.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent command of the English language with solid verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience with stock taking and stock control processes
- Self motivated, Enthusiastic, Fit and capable of heavy work. Able to work in all weather conditions and able to use machinery, lawn mower, trimmers, brush cutter, hedge cutters, chainsaw etc.
ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION DESIRED:
- Proven experience and/or qualification with Horticultural Management
- Previous work in a 4/5* Lodge / Hotel environment
