Job description: Job descriptionA well-established market and industry leader in the Industrial Engineering & Steelworks / Crane Hire Industries, urgently requires the services of a competent and self-motivated individual to be appointed in the key position of Buyer.
- Grade 12 with essential knowledge (minimum of 3 years) of Buying / Procurement.
- Knowledge of workshop consumables is advantageous.
- Experience in Syspro and MS Office is essential.
- Must be a team player & be able to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels – from Directors to Workshop staff.
General buying for Workshop, Operations, and Administration
- Action requisitions received from the workshop, Project/Technical Managers, and/or management.
- Responsible for obtaining and negotiating the best possible prices for authorization for workshop consumables
- Generate purchase orders, and ensure timeous delivery/action to maintain an accurate production flow (secondary materials).
Control and update Stores
- Continuously monitoring and updating Workshop Stores stock levels and stock movements.
- Responsible for ensuring store clerks are performing their functions correctly.
Client Liaison
- Liaising with service providers, clients, tenants, and sub-contractors on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance and timeous delivery of services and/or parts, and consumables with the minimum disruption on operations.
- Follow up on outstanding orders.
General Administration
- General administration such as checking of GRNs and invoices received; issuing and immediate adjustments of POs with discrepancies controlling post and banking functions.
- Monitoring and controlling inter-company and/or tenant repair jobs.
- Responsible for arranging all medical evaluations and training interventions as and when required by management.
- Hiring for external equipment/plant for the site.
Remuneration:R15 000-R20 000pm depending on experience
Expected salary: R15000 – 20000 per month
