Job description: Looking for the fast-paced excitement of consultancy with the safety of being the client?As part of a larger group, this consulting project management firm is the exclusive service provider to a development company and property fund within the group, offering a guaranteed pipeline of exciting projects like mall extensions, white-boxing, commercial-to-residential conversions, and even greenfield housing developments. They’re looking for a Project Administrator to support their busy, close-knit team. You’ll work closely with the Project Associate and Director, focusing on renovations, upgrades, and tenant installations-mostly retail, with a few low-cost housing projects. If you’re detail-oriented, organised, and can juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you!Your duties will include (but aren’t limited to):
- Managing project documentation, ensuring both hard-copy and electronic files are accurately filed and stored.
- Attending project meetings, recording agendas, and distributing minutes with clear action items.
- Assisting in preparing Letters of Acceptance and contracts, ensuring accurate filing and timely completion of addendums.
- Acting as Health & Safety Officer for assigned projects, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
- Coordinating and preparing project handover packs, ensuring all necessary Certificates of Compliance (COCs) are obtained and filed.
- Preparing invoices and payment requisitions, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
While your organisational skills and MS Office proficiency should be well-established in this highly administrative role, there will also be opportunities to go on-site and gradually take on project reporting for smaller installations. As you gain experience, this aspect of the role could expand, eventually allowing you to manage your own projects.This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in Project Management Administration, ideally with a background in construction. You’ll need to be assertive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with contractors. Importantly, you must have your own car and driver’s license to visit sites, deliver documents, and provide general project support.
Expected salary: R300000 – 360000 per year
