They are looking for a skilled Intermediate Construction Project Manager to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects through all stages, from initiation to completion.Job Description:
As an Intermediate Construction Project Manager, you will oversee the successful execution of various multi-disciplinary projects in the industrial, commercial, residential, and retail sectors. You will be responsible for managing projects from stage 1 through to stage 6, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities:Project Management from Start to Finish:
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from conceptualization (stage 1) to final handover (stage 6).
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects meet specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
- Develop and manage project timelines, schedules, and resources to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor project progress and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
Budget & Cost Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project.
- Approve and process invoices, variations, and change orders.
- Provide regular financial reporting to senior management and clients.
Team & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Lead and coordinate teams of contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met.
- Ensure effective communication across all parties involved in the project.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality and progress.
- Address any quality or safety concerns promptly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in construction project management.
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary projects (industrial, commercial, residential, and retail).
- Knowledge of all project phases from stage 1 to stage 6, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
Skills:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
Other Requirements:
- Must have your own car and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
