MoreCorp is known for its retail footprint in the golf and cycling sectors in the form of The Pro Shop and the Cycle Lab Chains.At MoreCorp, we believe in helping friends and enabling them to enjoy their golf and cycling lifestyle more, by getting them to play better, cycle further and have more fun.MoreCorp is an energetic business, continually pioneering the recreational golf and cycling industries in South Africa.We require the services of an Events Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and seamless execution of a variety of events, including tournaments, competitions, fundraisers, supplier activations, member activations, festivals, demo days, cycling races, and golf days.Key Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of events for both golf and cycling, including venue selection, scheduling, budgeting, logistics, and participant engagement.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as marketing, sponsorship, and operations teams, to align event objectives with organizational goals and marketing calendar and strategy.Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and sponsors to secure necessary resources and support for events.Develop comprehensive event timelines and production schedules to ensure all activities are completed on time and within budget.Coordinate with sports federations, schools, teams, and officials to ensure compliance with regulations and standards for sanctioned events.Implement marketing and promotional strategies to maximize event attendance, engagement, and revenue generation.Manage event staff, volunteers, and contractors, providing leadership, direction, and support throughout the planning and execution process.Oversee event operations on-site, including setup, signage, registration, security, safety and hospitality services, to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for participants and spectators.Oversee planning, leading, implementation and execution of all events.Evaluate event success and gather feedback from stakeholders, participants, and attendees to identify areas for improvement and inform future event planning efforts.Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sports event management to enhance event experiences and drive innovation.Requirements:Degree/Diploma in Sports Management, Event Management, Marketing, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports event planning and management, preferably within the sports industry.Strong knowledge of golf and cycling sporting codes, their rules, regulations, and standards, with experience coordinating events across these two disciplines would be advantageous.Proven track record of successfully planning and executing sports events of varying scales, from local competitions to international tournaments.Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Proficiency in event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms for event promotion and marketing.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for event planning and execution.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: R25 000,00 – R35 000,00 per monthApplication Question(s):Do you have your own motor vehicle?Please confirm what area you reside in?Do you have a relevant degree/diploma in sports management or events management or marketing?
