Job description: Junior Group Accountant – Cape TownFull job descriptionMinimum Required Education:University degree in AccountingMinimum Required Experience:Two to Three years of Accounting Experience (preferably with an international company)Responsibilitiesa) Intragroup Money Transfers and FlowsMaintain accurate and current information regarding loans and interest, including payment dates and accruals, between group companiesMaintain accurate and current information regarding royalties and other charges between group companies, including invoicing and accrualsMaintain an accurate forecast of future planned money flowsAssist with documentation (agreements, statements, and other documents as necessary) related to intragroup money flowsReconciliation of group and local company accounting ledgersPrepare transactions (accruals) for entryb) AccountingEnter and maintain accounting transactionsPrepare detailed analytics of accountsDevelop and maintain standard reports and prepare ad-hoc reports as neededAdditional assignments as may be assignedParticipate in special projects, as neededBank reconciliationPrepare various manual entriesPrepare general ledger account reconciliationsProvide support to other groups within the accounting organizationsProvide support during internal and external audit reviewsFinancial statement preparation, including but not limited to, profit and loss statements, balance sheet, cash flowHandle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g. Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, forecasting, budgeting etc.Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations.Maintain CIT and VAT declarationsPerform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts.Perform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls.Review & approve payment vouchers & journal entries.Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with the operations and project teams.Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.Supporting Finance Manager in ensuring that inter company cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policyConsultative with the respective departments on cost reduction initiativesc) SkillsKnowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), country-specific GAAP or other multi-country accounting experience is preferredProficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical and trouble-shooting skillsStrong accounting experience, expert in excel financial modeling and data reconciliation skills; internal management and financial reporting and financial analysisDemonstrate problem solving, decision making, and continuous process improvement skills.Competent to multitask, set priorities, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment.Able to work proactively, independentlytwo to three years of accounting experience with an international company; multi-currency; multiple legal entitiesUniversity degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalentMust have fluent English, knowledge of Polish, Russia, or Spanish helpfulJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: R360 000,00 – R480 000,00 per yearAbility to commute/relocate:Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:Bachelors (Required)Language:Fluent English (Required)License/Certification:SAICA member registration (Preferred)Application Deadline: 2024/12/20Expected Start Date: 2025/01/01
