Job description: A solutions company in the North of Johannesburg is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician with expertise in EPlan P8 to join their engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing electrical schematics, control panels, and related technical documentation using Eplan P8. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other team members.Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Drafting: Create accurate and detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and other technical drawings using Eplan P8.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, wiring lists, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Quality Assurance: Review and verify designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve design issues, errors, and discrepancies in electrical schematics and documentation.
- Software Utilization: Utilize Eplan P8 features and tools to enhance design efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
- Updates and Revisions: Implement design changes and updates as required, ensuring all modifications are accurately reflected in the documentation.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Proven experience as a draughtsperson with a strong focus on electrical schematics and control panel design using Eplan P8.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Eplan P8, with a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in technical drawing and documentation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address design challenges and provide practical solutions.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical design or EPlan P8 are advantageous.
- Experience: Experience with other CAD software or electrical design tools is a plus.
