Job description: Job Summary SolidWorks Mechanical Design Engineer Gauteng Must have a 4-year Mechanical Engineering Degree, NFQ Level 8 Must have designing experience using Solidworks . Must have 1- 8+ years’ background experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer Must have working designing experience in 3D CAD modelling SolidWorks + Finite Element Analysis+ electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic control systems Experience within the Automation industry Engineering systems – advantage Experience gained in Conceptualize and design mechanical purpose-built machinery, industrial equipment, robotic welding, assembly cells, body in white jigs, conveyance systems and lifting equipment advantage. Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge Able to work under pressure and to deadlines. Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software Self-motivated and highly organized Create and assist with complex project quotations. Plan and lead medium to large design projects. Perform design reviews. Manage project risks. Coach and mentor Junior Engineers. Conduct complex and high-risk designs. Ensure due diligence and go the extra mile. Look at overall department efficiency, digitization, workflow streamlining and planning for the future. Analyze and check mechanical functionality of systems. Develop manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable company standards using Solidworks. Interface with customers, vendors, production managers and procurement to find optimal solutions.
Expected salary: R27000 – 32000 per month
