Job description: Job SummaryWell-established company, located in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, is seeking an experienced Chemical Process Operator. The company produces innovative waterborne polymer products and additives for the packaging and coating industry. With a multidisciplinary team, consisting of dedicated experts in marketing, technical service, application & synthesis laboratory, engineering, supply-chain and production, they are constantly at the forefront of the market needs of the printing, packaging and coating industry. As a Process Operator, the successful candidate will work in a team and will be responsible for the smooth running of the automated production processes. The successful candidate will be the one who ensures that the process runs successfully and will be the one who intervenes, when necessary, to solve problems. This job offers a pathway to the diverse European job market and will both challenge and reward the successful candidate. The following items are included in the package:
- Remuneration fixed at €3909.00 per month (Gross).
- A flight ticket from South Africa to the Netherlands for the successful candidate (anyone accompanying the candidate will have to obtain their own ticket).
- An introductory Dutch language course which will assist integration in the Netherlands.
- Assistance with the Dutch visa application process and setting up a bank account in the Netherlands.
Requirements:
- No candidate older than 28 years will be considered for this position.
- Independent firm personality, a great sense of responsibility, good analytical skills and a team spirit.
- A minimum of four (4) years’ experience working in a relevant field.
- A relevant tertiary education in Chemical Process control or similar.
- Willing to work flexible hours.
- Due to the similarity between Dutch and Afrikaans, and the need for rapid integration into the Dutch working environment, only Afrikaans-speaking applicants will be considered for this role. The proficiency level of both written and spoken Afrikaans should be suitable for the work environment (professional level).
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
Duties:
- Within production, ensure presence of raw materials and semi-finished products. Prepare solutions, add raw materials and operate the production control system.
- Convert planning into work orders and provide operational coordination and direction of work.
- Take production samples and/or analyse samples and define instructions for adjusting and reprocessing products. In doing so, monitor the status of lab analysis equipment and interpret/validate analysis results.
- Identify malfunctions, check safety measures by inspection and report deviations. If necessary, secure the situation and perform maintenance work.
- Support maintenance during shutdowns.
- Adhere to regulations and make recommendations on production efficiency, quality and safety.
