- Adhere to the company’s or organisation’s financial policies and procedures
- Assist with annual external financial audit
- Capture vendor invoices on systems (CargoWise and SAGE)
- Dealing with queries and liaising between vendor and team members
- Ensure compliance e.g SARS license and subscriptions (Southern African Association of Freight Forwarders, World Cargo Alliance and Agency Licenses)
- Ensure vendor due-diligence process is adhere to.
- Ensuring that health and safety policies are up to date
- Reconcile vessel agency accounts
- Reconcile vendor accounts to statement
- Resolve queries with supplier and customer accounts
- Posting accruals once reconciliation of the cost is complete
- Closing of files on CargoWise and ensuring that the reconciliation is complete and accurate
- Capturing of debtor invoices
- Perform GL reconciliations at month end
- Load payments on the banking system
- Maintain cashflow forecast weekly
- Maintain CargoWise functionality
- Assist with Taxation calculations and submissions
- Manage consolidations between different group companies
- Assist with business case reviews and valuations
- Any Ad-Hoc required by management
About the ROLEThe Financial Manager/Controller will support the Financial Director in this fast growing business in South Africa and offshore and will ensure consistent, compliant, effective and efficient accounting processes. The position will require excellent technical accounting and communication skills.
