Job description: BOOKKEEPER Century City, Cape Town, Western CapeR204 000 – R230 000 Basic Per Annum plus BenefitsOur Client, a Global Financial Services concern is seeking a numerically inclined Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team of finance professionals.One would describe you as being highly organised problem solver who possesses strong communication skills and who places particular emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.Further to this you have good time management skills and a sense of urgency when needing to meet set deadlines.Job Purpose:As a junior bookkeeper, you have a great opportunity to work under the guidance of a Senior Accountant; learning and growing in financial best practices while contributing to the smooth operation of the Finance Department.Be responsible for the processing of accounting-related functions and supporting the finance team with basic bookkeeping tasks. This includes recording transactions, reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance as well as data entry, tracking receipts, preparing basic financial reports, and assisting with accounts payable and receiving functions.Minimum Requirements:
- Senior Certificate with relevant Finance Diploma/Degree, or an equivalent qualification
- 2 Years bookkeeping experience
- SAGE Evolution experience is highly preferred!
- Proficient with MS Office
- Excel Intermediate Level
- Knowledge of Financial Accounting Systems
- Ability to perform Reconciliations
- Ability to work on Banking Platforms
Key Responsibilities:
- Cashbook capturing
- Bank reconciliations
- Supplier Invoice capturing
- Supplier Reconciliations
- Revenue Invoicing
- Customer Reconciliations
- Monitoring of various inboxes and liaising with stakeholders as required
- Assistance with monthly management accounts
- Assistance with preparation of audit packs and audit related queries
- Ad-hoc requests
Expected salary: R204000 – 230000 per year
