The Financial Accountant will have a strong background in project management and auditing, will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, supporting business growth, and leading critical financial projects. Permanent, hybrid, office based in Sandton. R100 000 per monthKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting and Billing:Prepares monthly management reports and oversees accurate, timely billing operations.Manages general ledger reconciliations and handles month-end and year-end closing processes.Prepares monthly group reporting packages, including inter-company reconciliation matrices and profit & loss charge breakdowns.Responds to ad-hoc queries from group functions and sales operations.Ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, SA GAAP).Reviews and approves manual journal entries.Prepares consolidated group financial results and balance sheets.Audit and Local Tax Compliance:Oversees external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.Drafts financial statements in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP.Supports auditors with testing and documentation.Ensures full compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.Documents accounting treatments for commercial and corporate transactions in line with applicable standards.Liaises with local tax consultants to ensure regulatory compliance and monitors changes in legislation to manage risks and identify opportunities.Leadership and Collaboration:Involved in providing support, coaching and development training to a team of junior finance professionalsFosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and a positive work environment.Partners cross-functionally to deliver financial insights that support strategic decision-making.Contributes to talent strategies focused on attracting, retaining, and developing high-performing team members.Change Implementation:Drives process improvement initiatives related to financial close, ERP system upgrades, internal control enhancements, and other key changes.Works closely with stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and develop practical solutions.Leads the implementation of new business and finance processes.Communicates process changes effectively and delivers training to ensure successful adoption.RequirementsQualifications & SkillsEssential:Qualified Accountant e.g.,CA(SA) ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA.Proven experience in financial accounting, audit, and project management.Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.Experience in preparation of group consolidation with foreign subsidiaries.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, CaseWare).Desirable:Experience in a fast-paced industry or multinational organization.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.Capable of driving a change and process documentation and improvements.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders at all levels.Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).Experience in financial institution or, and experience in the implementation of billing systems advantageous.BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package.
