Job description: Job Description :The client is a global fintech corporate that has transformed how financial institutions bring card solutions to market. Operating internationally, this company provides cutting-edge technology and expert support that enables rapid, secure issuance and processing of payment cards at scale. The Financial Accountant will have a strong background in project management and auditing, will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, supporting business growth, and leading critical financial projects. This is a 3-6 month fixed duration contract, hybrid, office based in Sandton. R80 000 per month.Please note that there are 2 roles available for this client which may seem similar. This role is a fixed duration contract to start asap and candidates who are available immediately will therefore be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting:Prepares monthly management reports.Oversees general ledger reconciliations, as well as month-end and year-end closing processes.Prepares monthly group reporting packages, including inter-company reconciliation matrices and details of inter-company profit and loss charges.Facilitates queries from the group.Ensures compliance with accounting standards such as IFRS and UK GAAP.Reviews and approves manual journal entries.Prepares consolidated group financial results and balance sheets.Audit:Manages the external audit process, ensuring timely and accurate responses.Assists auditors with the performance of their testing.Ensures compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.Documents accounting conclusions for commercial or corporate transactions in accordance with IFRS.Project Management:Leads and supports financial projects, including system upgrades (e.g., SAGE modules), process improvements (e.g., creating process flow documentation), and cost-saving initiatives.Collaborates cross-functionally to provide financial insights that inform business decisions.Develops and monitors project timelines and deliverables.Stakeholder Engagement:Works closely with senior management, auditors, and external consultants.RequirementsQualifications & SkillsEssential:Qualified or partially qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA).Proven experience in financial accounting, audit, and project management.Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.Experience in preparation of group consolidation with foreign subsidiaries.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).Desirable:Experience in a fast-paced industry or multinational organization.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.Capable of driving a change and process documentation and improvements.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders at all levels.Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).Experience in financial institution or, and experience in the implementation of billing systems advantageous.BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package.
