We are seeking skilled Cost and Management Accountants to join a dynamic manufacturing team in Johannesburg. If you have the expertise and passion for financial analysis and reporting in a manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you! This is an exciting opportunity for professionals looking for a 6-month contract.Position Summary:
- Cost Accounting:
- Setup and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) for SFI.
- Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems and processes.
- Analyze manufacturing costs including raw materials, labor, and overheads.
- Calculate product costs and prepare cost estimates for both new and existing products.
- Perform periodic inventory valuations and reconcile variances.
- Conduct standard cost updates and evaluate profitability impacts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Prepare and monitor plant budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
- Provide insights to support cost control and resource allocation.
- Partner with operations teams to assess financial impacts of production changes.
- Management Reporting:
- Generate and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reports.
- Present financial insights to plant leadership to support decision-making.
- Prepare detailed profitability analysis by product, process, or department.
- Financial Analysis and Performance Tracking:
- Track plant performance metrics, such as efficiency, waste, and utilization.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
- Perform break-even, margin, and ROI analysis for projects.
- Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and recommend corrective actions for discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cost and financial records.
Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting,
, or a related field (essential). * Professional certification (CIMA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Syspro (essential).
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
